Creative Connections
Funded by National Lottery Community Fund
Creative Connections is a programme of mindful art workshops which are a lifeline for those who are experiencing mental health issues and/or at risk of social isolation and chronic loneliness as they provide a safe and accessible space in which to create social connections with peers experiencing similar challenges.
The Creative Connections project provides a nurturing and non-judgemental space in an established vibrant artists’ community in which participants explore their own creativity during weekly 3-hour sessions led by a professional artist.
Each participant is encouraged to explore new ways to convey their thoughts, feelings and creative responses whilst learning new skills and increasing confidence. Decisions on direction of the artwork are made by each individual with guidance from the artist as and where required, allowing them to take ownership of the presentation of their creative vision.
